  • Proceed to the next step and Pay for the exams
  • Once payment is confirmed, proceed to book your exam center.
  • Click “OK” and choose your preferred examination center.
  • Navigate to the resource menu and download the exam timetable for your reference.

Key Changes to CPA Exams in 2024

In August 20243, KASNEB announced several changes that you should be aware of as a CPA student. These include:

1. Introduction of Advanced Management Accounting as a Compulsory Paper

KASNEB is reintroducing Advanced Management Accounting (AMA) as a compulsory paper starting January 2024. All students enrolling in the CPA advanced level from January 1, 2024, must prepare for AMA as one of the four compulsory units. 

2. New Registration Timeframes and Administrative Fee Adjustments

Another critical update is the implementation of the Gazetted Accountants (Examination) Rules, 2022, which introduces a structured timeframe for KASNEB registration across various qualification levels:

  • Vocational: 1 year
  • Certificate: 3 years
  • Diploma: 6 years
  • Professional: 10 years
  • Post-professional: 3 years​​

KASNEB has also reviewed administrative fees, which affect the costs of confirmation letters and subscription fees to e-learning resources. Candidates should expect to pay between Kshs.300 to Kshs.600 for each confirmation letter, with annual subscription fees for e-learning resources set at Kshs.1000 per person​​.

3. Launch of Computer-Based Examinations (CBE)

KASNEB is rolling out computer-based examinations (CBE) for ATD Level II students from December 2023, with ATD Level III to follow in April 2024​​to modernize its examination delivery.

How Can One Change the Exam Centre in KASNEB?

  • As Exam Candidates, you are required to submit a request for a change of examination centers at least two months before the exam dates.

  • The pass mark for all KASNEB papers is set at 50%. This benchmark ensures a consistent standard of proficiency among candidates across all examinations​​.

  • fill in the required details as instructed
  •  After signing up, wait for confirmation to access the timetable
  • Once confirmed, you will be able to access your timetable for exams

How Many Times Can You Retake the CPA Exam in Kenya?

KASNEB does not limit the number of times a candidate can retake the CPA examination. However, candidates must pass each section within an 18-month window. A candidate must score at least 75 out of 99 per section within the specified timeframe to pass.
